OUR IMPACT

Our advisor-led wealth management businesses provide financial planning, investment management, banking and comprehensive advice to a wide range of clients, including ultra-high net worth and high net worth individuals, as well as family offices, foundations and endowments, and corporations and their employees. Our consumer business provides digital solutions for consumers to better spend, borrow, invest, and save. Across Wealth Management, our growth is driven by a relentless focus on our people, our clients and leading-edge technology, data and design.

Managed Strategies

The Managed Strategies Team is responsible for all discretionary solutions offerings for Wealth clients. The team provides clients with liquid, bespoke, actively managed investment opportunities via separately managed accounts and manages $50bn in assets globally.

Our team partners with clients to identify investment objectives and implement differentiated equity strategies to tailor portfolios to meet both strategic and tactical goals, while maintaining a key risk management focus. The team specializes on 3 key platforms – an option writing strategy, GOAS (Goldman Option Advisory Service), an actively managed structured note investment platform, Beta+, and thematic long-only equity model portfolio implementations via Thematic Marketplace. The team also creates customized options overlay solutions to meet client’s risk/return goals and investment objectives.

Equity Structuring

The Equity Structuring Team works with advisors and clients to deliver tailored solutions for: concentrated single stock positions, or a specific view / objective through various non-discretionary derivative strategies. Each approach is developed in partnership to fully consider the client’s investment objectives, estate planning, risk tolerance, time horizon, liquidity needs, and available market opportunities.

Additionally, the Single Stock Risk Management (SSRM) team sits within Equity Structuring and works with clients who have concentrated single stock positions to deliver tailored solutions. SSRM solutions are developed in partnership with the client’s team of advisors to fully consider the client’s investment objectives, estate planning, risk tolerance, time horizon, liquidity needs, and available market opportunities.

SSRM helps individuals and their families solidify objectives and navigate complex timelines by delivering tailored and dynamic solutions that incorporate insights from the client’s broader team, Issuers and subject matter experts across Goldman Sachs. These discussions occur before and following important corporate events, such as IPOs, direct listings, SPACs and M&A events, and often lead to further actions such as hedging and monetization transactions via block trades, 10b5-1 sales/purchase plans, derivative transactions, and option overlay strategies.
