The Hedging Associate is responsible for assisting with the formulation and implementation of hedging strategies across all Asset & Wealth Management Private investing strategies with an emphasis on FX. This includes responsibility for hedging across all Asset & Wealth Management Private funds and GS balance sheet, as well as working with investors to articulate the methodology of AWM Private hedging programs.
This position also involves working with investment teams across all strategies managed by Asset & Wealth Management Private (Credit, Equity, Real Estate and Infrastructure) to understand the FX risks associated with each investment and to formulate, recommend and implement appropriate hedging strategies. The position requires an understanding of macroeconomics, market dynamics, FX and Interest Rate hedging strategies, and alternative investment fund structures and strategies. The position is a unique opportunity to contribute to the risk management efforts across AWM Private globally.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist in developing, implementing and executing FX hedging programs across all AWM Private fund strategies and structures. Work with internal teams across Asset & Wealth Management in Asia, Europe and the Americas to quantify FX risks and develop hedging strategies at an individual deal level Partner with investment teams to assist with the implementation and execution of risk management strategies for AWM Private portfolio companiesWork closely with external counsel to negotiate ISDA, CSA, and other trading related documentation with sell side counterpartiesDevelop and grow relationships with sell side derivatives counterparties Collaborate with internal capital markets teams to maximize wallet share across key counterparties for AWM Private Maintain pipeline of new fund launches to ensure all funds are legally and operationally prepared to trade FX and interest rate derivatives
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree required; 2+ years of experience in FX, Interest Rate, or other market risk management product areas preferred History of outstanding academic and professional achievements Experience working directly with clients and internal stakeholders to explain hedging strategies Excellent work ethic and attention to detail Self-starter with a high level of motivation Possess a track record of good judgment and strong communication skill Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills Strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members across multiple groups and regions Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment Advanced proficiency with Excel, Bloomberg, PowerPoint and Word, and adaptability to other software products

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$160000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
