Business Overview

The External Investing Group ("XIG") provides investors with investment and advisory solutions, across leading private equity funds, hedge fund managers, real estate managers, public equity strategies and fixed income strategies. XIG manages globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and a range of advisory services. Our investors access opportunities through new fund commitments, fund-of-fund investments, strategic partnerships, secondary-market investments, co-investments, and seed-capital investments. With over 350 professionals across 11 offices around the world, XIG provides manager diligence, portfolio construction, risk management, and liquidity solutions to investors, drawing on Goldman Sachs' market insights and risk management expertise. We extend these global capabilities to the world's leading sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, governments, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, and family offices, for which we invest or advise on over $300 billion of alternative investments, public equity strategies and fixed income strategies.

XIG (External Investing Group) Technology team is looking for talented full-stack engineers to work on all technical aspects of the end to end investment lifecycle including Investment Sourcing, Investment Analysis, Execution, Portfolio Management, Trading and Risk Analytics. As a member of our team, you’ll have the chance to work with other highly talented and motivated engineers and investment professionals across geographies and build next generation systems to fuel the firm’s Alternative and Traditional investments.

Responsibilities:

Work directly with investment professionals to understand the full scope of the project and document the requirements.Propose design/architecture to the team and/or the users.Collaborate with global team members and stakeholders to agree upon a desirable solutionWrite robust, well tested code either working independently or in a group.Complete the lifecycle by deploying software to production and work with the Frontline team to put in place a support framework for the newly deployed software.Comfortable to pick up projects requiring full-stack development.Coach/mentor junior employees.

REQUIREMENTS:

4+ years of relevant professional experience.Bachelors of Science or higher in Computer Science or a related field  Experience in: Java, Javascript/Typescript, Angular.Experience of working with SQL and NoSQL databases.Proven communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently as a self-starter and collaborate in a team environment.Experience in a Financial services firm is a plus, but not required.

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
