This position will participate in night and weekend on-call coverage as assigned by the clinical division chief, and providing individual teaching to pediatric residents and other health care professionals participating in the care of patients in the Neonatology Division. In addition, this position will attend regional, national, and/or international scientific meetings and serve on Children’s Hospital and College of Medicine committees as needed.

The Kentucky Children’s Hospital has Eastern and Central Kentucky’s only Level I pediatric trauma center, Level IV newborn (neonatal) intensive care unit and pediatric intensive care unit. In addition, this facility houses more than 30 advanced sub-specialty programs, such as pediatric oncology and pediatric surgery. The NICU is a 66-bed unit providing Level IV and intermediate care for the newborn. It provides a neonatal transport team that utilizes the Kentucky Children’s Hospital ambulance, a mobile neonatal unit, and serves as a regional neonatal transport center serving Eastern and Central Kentucky.
