Touro College of Pharmacy (TCOP) invites applications for a full-time faculty position (open rank) for its campus located at 3 Times Square, New York, NY.
The successful candidate will have educational qualifications and experience related to Pharmacology. The University places a high priority on teaching excellence and research/scholarship success with an expectation that the candidate will also be active in their professional field. The successful candidate will be expected to support the program through teaching and course administration duties and responsibilities as outlined further below. Candidates are also expected to supervise and mentor pharmacy students. Although a commitment to excellence in teaching is the primary responsibility of the position, faculty members also serve on the administrative committees of the college and are expected to already have, or to develop scholarly activity that results in peer-reviewed publications.

ResponsibilitiesIn collaboration with other Course Coordinators and faculty instructors consistent with the shared TCOP curriculum, the faculty has the following major duties and responsibilities:
Direct course planning and organization in Pharmacology and other related courses.Develop a detailed course syllabus that is prepared according to the TCOP syllabus template.Ensure that materials such as lecture videos, lecture notes, PowerPoint presentations, and cases have been completed, properly edited for content/grammatical errors, and posted to the students in a timely fashion.Contribute to the course evaluation process as per TCOP policy.Collaborate on course management, including course updates, lecture development, exam preparation and review.Work with all contributing faculty to ensure that the learning needs of all TCOP students are met.Advise students on questions about course materials and course administration, including referring students to the appropriate person for content questions.Engage in scholarship/research consistent with the mission and vision of TCOP.Fulfill committee assignments assigned by the Dean.Participate in interviews process as assigned by the Dean.Satisfactory completion of faculty development and responsibilities according to annual goals established between faculty and chair.Actively participate in the Touro University Faculty Development and Evaluation Programs.Participate in student advising and provide guidance to the students of TCOP.Duties and responsibilities specific to one’s academic department, as assigned by the Department Chair. Qualifications Education/ ExperienceDoctor of Pharmacy required.PharmD, PhD, BPharm or MPharm and a PhD or equivalent.Advanced Degree in Pharmacology or a Fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology is required.2 - 5 years’ experience in teaching and academic leadership in a pharmacology or a related field is highly desirable.Knowledge/ Skills/ AbilitiesA high degree of interpersonal competency:professionalism, diplomacy, judgement and discretion requiredThe successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for exceptional teaching at the pharmacy or graduate level in the areas of pharmacology, demonstrate potential for research/scholarship, and work well with the rest of faculty team.Proficiency in team building, relevant content expertise, research techniques, instructional design/delivery/assessment, course management, and public speaking.The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, have relevant content and clinical expertise, and have a passion for teaching.Basic computer skills supporting the proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel as well as software used to prepare and administer written exams electronically are preferred. Maximum Salary USD $130,642.00/Yr. Minimum Salary USD $104,514.00/Yr.
