We at Kalmar are seeking a talentedAssistant, Cash Applyto deliver services in line with customers’ needs and expectations.
The position requires working from the office for the first 6 months.
Main tasks and responsibilities
+ Process and post cash receipts; apply all payments to the accounts receivable subledger; make necessary adjustments in the accounting system.
+ Work in an ERP system environment to apply customer payments.
+ Post ACH, wire transfers, and credit card deposits to the appropriate GL cash accounts.
+ On an ongoing basis and in a timely manner, accurately apply cash collections to the customer’s account using appropriate accounting and business management software.
+ Perform the timely and accurate application of daily receipts and reconcile the cash balance to the general ledger account on a daily basis.
+ Manage and resolve remittance mismatches or cash application issues.
+ Process payment return items and insufficient funds.
+ Investigate and correct unallocated/unapplied AR payments; provide support to the Credit and Collections team.
+ Common cost allocation.
+ Ensure AR subledger closing is performed in a timely manner.
What you’ll need to succeed
+ Minimum bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business Administration.
+ No experience is acceptable as training would be provided. Experience in the customer accounts receivables area would be considered a plus.
+ Understanding of general accounting and financial principles, practices, and procedures, with the ability to follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
+ Experience in accounts receivables reconciliation of debits/credits and the ability to analyze results.
+ Understanding of issues, identifying problems, determining the appropriate course of action, and performing root cause analysis.
+ Must be professional and ethical with high integrity, ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment independently and collaborate with other financial teams.
+ Familiarity with ERP systems, such as SAP, is a plus.
+ Minimum skills in using MS Office applications, MS Excel (advanced), and Word. Skills in using Google Tools would be an advantage.
+ English: Written and spoken.
