Assistant Account Executive - Commercial Lines

Our Northeast division is seeking an Associate Account Executive for the Rubin Group department in our New York City office, conveniently located across from Bryant Park. HUB will provide the tools and the training necessary for the position.

This position will provide our clients with exceptional service in a timely and professional manner, and in accordance with HUB’s operating procedure.

Responsibilities as an Associate Account Executive, include:  

Working with the team leader to service a dedicated book of businessAccount review, gathering information, research, marketing submissions, invoicing, policy checking, and all other matters related thereto, except the direct handling of claims and loss controlResponsibility for identifying exposures on the accounts, and for discussing with the team leader and/or the clientAbility to access exposures, and make coverage recommendations, written and oralAbility to review losses, and determine loss trends, and make recommendations on loss control in tandem with the loss control departmentAssist and coordinate the delivery of services between our clients, carriers and loss control departmentsCommunicate effectively, timely, with team leader and all co-workersInvoice all renewals and policy change requests timelyProcess all cancellations including updating policy billing screen and invoicingProcess all renewals/change requests/cancellations as neededClose out activities of account managers when processing is completed.  Keeping activities current and update to dateSend policies to history and make clients inactive, when appropriateEnter all appropriate activities in the system in conjunction with processingMake calls to companies when there are problems/questions pertaining to processingFollow up regularly with insurers and clients via email and phone to close out outstanding servicing mattersAssists in maintaining expiration reportsAssist team in preparing and gathering Critical Path summariesAssist team in resolving accounting mattersProficiency in accessing all company systems/websites to obtain all necessary information in the processing proceduresAbility to write letters and emails that are detailed, accurate, concise and to the pointPerform other miscellaneous duties and projects as assignedFollow and adhere to all company protocols

Qualifications

3-5 years related experience in the insurance industryBachelor’s degree preferredDetail oriented with good mathematical and communication skillsAbility to understand, analyze, and research different lines of insuranceComputer skills are a must, including excel and word proficiencyAbility to work within designated time framesGood interpersonal skillsMulti-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environmentP&C License preferred (will be required to obtain a license if not currently held)Working knowledge of EPIC preferred, but otherwise, the ability and willingness to learn

The expected pay range for this position is $32.97 to $46.70 an hour and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and work location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
