Assistant Accountant
Purpose:
Accurate and timeous processing and analysis of financial information  Experience with logistics would be beneficial (E.g. Experience with keeping track of costs incurred on deliveries, daily summary report to management to reflect trucks’ movements / statuses, experience on imports) Minimum Requirements:
BCom Accounting degree or diploma or similar tertiary qualification 2 – 3 years Accountant work experience Responsibilities:
Process general and standard journals Prepare general ledger reconciliations and operational reconciliations Take responsibility of the general ledger reconciliation file Assist in month end and year end processes Prepare financial instruments reports Meeting financial reporting obligations and deadlines Analyse monthly management report (inclusive of Income statement and Balance Sheet) Monthly Tax/VAT calculations Reconciling foreign vendor payments to the general ledger Liaison with external auditors Load company/department related payments Ability to discuss financial issues with both fellow professionals and those with little or no financial background Debtors and stock monthly slides Operational Budgeting process Maintain relationships with the business as a support function Monthly Invoicing Ad hoc business requirements Bank Accounts:  Monitoring bank balances, Loading payments Maintain the following balance sheet items: accruals, suspense account, accounts payable Reconciliation of Balance Sheet Prepare purchase orders Inventory management
