POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant AR/AP Manager is a back-up to the AR/AP Manager. Responsible for managing various accounting functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Backup to AR/AP Manager
• Create, enter, post monthly allocation journals to stores, Production or Centers
• Process recurring and non-recurring journals.
• Reconcile receivables subledger to the general ledger in Shelby monthly.
• Communicate with employees/officers or vendors for resolution of accounting issues.
• Review and code accounts payable invoices and corporate card transactions.
• Verification of invoices/credit card transactions/check requests scanned from field units/departments for completeness with supporting documentation attached as needed.
• Posting of accounts payable and credit card transactions from Workflow systems to Shelby accounting system.
• Work with CRD in reconciling donations (Lockbox Accts) and portfolio to Cash.
• Post & distribute Cash received in Lockbox Accounts
• Daily Sales Reconciliation
• Coding and reviewing daily cash receipts.
• Monthly Transmission Accounts Reconciliations
• Bank Reconciliations
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in business/accounting with a minimum of five years’ experience or 10 years’ experience in accounting.

PREFERRED SKILLS

MS Excel – familiar with the creation and use of advanced spreadsheet tools.
MS Word and Outlook – good written and oral communication skills. Able to complete business correspondence with proper etiquette and grammar.
Experience with Shelby software a plus.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Must be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, adaptable, work well with a team and able to handle confidential matters with discretion.
