Assistant/Associate Professor, Entrepreneurship - School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SIE), housed in Rowan’s AACSB-Accredited William G. Rohrer College of Business, invites applications for a tenure-track (Assistant / Associate) Professor of Entrepreneurship. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, innovative, growth-oriented faculty dedicated to building world-class degree programs and developing and disseminating impactful, thought-provoking scholarship at the highest levels. Rowan University’s undergraduate entrepreneurship program is ranked #1 in New Jersey for 2024 and 2025 and consistently placed among the Top 50 in the nation by Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine from 2022 to 2025. The Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE) has earned prestigious accolades, including AACSB’s Innovations That Inspire Awards in 2019, 2022, and 2024, as well as ICSB’s Entrepreneurship Center Global Impact Award in 2021. Rowan’s entrepreneurship faculty are distinguished leaders in their field. The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications: + A Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship or closely related field. + An experiential approach to entrepreneurship education. + A track record of excellence in scholarship consistent with rank. + For the assistant professor rank, the candidate should have an outstanding potential for developing a sustainable and externally funded research program, and a strong commitment to excellence in both research and teaching. + The ability to teach an array of entrepreneurship-specific courses. + A reputation of being a collegial, collaborative team member. Preferred qualifications include: + An active research pipeline with outcomes demonstrating the ability to publish in high-profile (e.g., FT50, ABDC-/A, ABS3/4) journal outlets commensurate with rank. + Research interests aligned synergistically with current Rowan entrepreneurship faculty. + First-hand experience in launching a startup and/or serving on startup / non-profit boards of directors is a plus. + Experience writing and securing grant funding for entrepreneurship and economic development research and programming. Entrepreneurship at Rowan The SIE is a centralized hub connecting Rowan’s core entrepreneurship assets including a multitude of nationally-ranked academic degree programs, student and faculty technology commercialization efforts, the South Jersey Technology Park, the award-winning Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE), and the $25M Rowan Innovation Venture Fund.
