Recruitment/Posting Title Assistant/Associate Professor: Basic Science Department NJMS-Anesthesiology Salary Annual Salary Posting Summary Rutgers University Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Care at New Jersey Medical Schools and Rutgers Brain Health Institute (BHI) seek to recruit outstanding federally funded faculty who will help execute our mission of building a world-class translational neuroscience research program in one of the leading academic medical centers in the United States. Openings will be filled at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
The department is composed of basic and translational research scientists, clinician scientists, and clinicians working collaboratively on high-impact basic and clinical research. The scientific focus of the Department is on bench-to-bedside research to understand mechanisms of disease development, progression, and prevention in the areas of chronic pain and drug addiction in the context of aging, cognitive function, metabolic disorders, neurodegeneration and nervous system injury. Our goal is to translate research findings into novel therapeutic approaches.
These research topics are also part of the four focus areas at BHI, which is the home for the overall Rutgers neuroscience initiative. BHI is a growing interdisciplinary institute consisting of more than 270 principal investigators with neuroscience laboratories across various campuses of Rutgers University.
