The Department of Network and Computer Security at the State University of New York Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We are seeking individuals with strong research and teaching skills in the field of cybersecurity to join our growing and dynamic department. The ideal candidate will contribute to our undergraduate and graduate programs and possess the ability to teach and support courses across a range of disciplines within the cybersecurity landscape, complementing strengths in the College of Engineering in areas such as robotics, semiconductors, power systems, manufacturing, and healthcare.
Candidates should have a track record of outstanding academic and scholarly achievements in their area of teaching and research. Preference will be given to those with research experience, collegiate-level teaching experience, and a strong background that aligns with SUNY Poly's leadership in engineering and the impact of engineering and STEM-related work on modern society.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Cybersecurity and related areas.
+ Supervising undergraduate and graduate student research projects and theses.
+ Contributing to curriculum development and program assessment.
+ Engaging in service activities within the department, institution, and professional community.
+ Fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for a diverse student body.
+ Establishing and maintaining an active research program.
+ Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Salary: Assistant Professor $105,000-$135,000 / Associate Professor $135,000 - $145,000

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network and Computer Security, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the time of appointment.
+ Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and research in one or more of the following areas: network security, cybersecurity, cryptography, cloud security, secure software development, digital forensics, or Internet of Things (IoT) security. Experience in applications related to robotics, semiconductors, power systems, and manufacturing is a plus.
+ A strong record of, or potential for, research and scholarly publications.
+ A commitment to mentoring and educating students from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in securing external research funding.
+ Industry or post-doctoral experience in relevant fields.
+ Active involvement in professional organizations related to cybersecurity.
