The new hire will join a nationally recognized department with a dynamic faculty dedicated to a collaborative and innovative approach to teaching undergraduate and graduate students. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Teach graduate and undergraduate classes in lighting which may include topics related to design, Vectorworks, lighting technology, and programming. + Advise student designers on realized production work + Recruit graduate students for MFA program + Participate in department season planning + Collaborate with the Design, Technology, and Management Area in support of current initiatives and new developments Required Qualifications Required qualifications for Assistant Professor Rank (Tenure Line): · MFA in Theatre Design · Extensive and active record of professional lighting design experience in regional and/or commercial theatre · Strong Vectorworks Skills utilizing industry standard (Schematic, 3D, and Visualization) Required qualifications for Associate Professor Rank (Tenure Line): · MFA in Theatre Design · Extensive and active record of professional lighting design experience in regional and/or commercial theatre; minimum of 7 years to be considered for Associate Rank · Strong Vectorworks Skills utilizing industry standard (Schematic, 3D, and Visualization) Required qualifications for Assistant Professor of Practice Rank: · Bachelors degree · Minimum of 7 years professional lighting design experience · Extensive and active record of professional lighting design experience in regional and/or commercial theatre · Strong Vectorworks Skills utilizing industry standard (Schematic, 3D, and Visualization) Required qualifications for Associate Professor of Practice Rank: · Bachelors degree · Minimum of 12 years professional lighting design experience · Extensive and active record of professional lighting design experience in regional and/or commercial theatre · Strong Vectorworks Skills utilizing industry standard (Schematic, 3D, and Visualization) The successful applicant will receive the appropriate rank and title based on university and school established standards.
