Recruitment/Posting Title Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor Department Engn - Academic Affairs Salary Annual Salary Posting Summary Rutgers University-New Brunswick’s School of Engineering is seeking applications for two full-time, non-tenure track teaching faculty positions starting in Summer or Fall 2025. The preferred rank is at the assistant professor level, however, applicants with exceptional teaching records and who are about to be promoted at a peer institution will be considered for the associate professor rank. These are long-term, career-oriented positions that provide an initial three-year appointment with the potential for renewal, contingent on satisfactory performance, along with opportunities for reappointment and advancement through the university’s teaching faculty track.
The School of Engineering launched a new experiential-based first-year engineering program in Fall 2024. This innovative program combines team-based learning, engineering design, development of professional skills, along with embedded resources for student support, success strategies, and campus engagement activities. We seek candidates to collaborate with the faculty and the advising team associated with the first-year program in the transformation of the introductory engineering experience that encompasses various engineering disciplines, computer programming, data-driven decision making, hardware applications, hands-on activities, teamwork, engineering project design, as well as professional ethics and student success strategies. Ideal candidates should have demonstrated commitment in providing high-quality learning experience for a diverse undergraduate student body and a steadfast dedication to equity and inclusion. Responsibilities will include teaching, coordinating, and assessing first-year engineering courses, holding office hours, grading, supervising teaching and learning assistants, serving as a faculty advisor to undergraduates, and other relevant responsibilities as assigned.
