**Job Summary**
The Integrated Design Engineering (IDEN) program at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a full-time instructor to teach undergraduate courses. This position is crucial to IDEN's hands-on, interdisciplinary approach to engineering education, with teaching responsibilities in subjects such as Engineering Tools and Analysis (including MATLAB and data acquisition labs), First-Year Engineering Projects, and core courses like Materials or CAD. The instructor will be an active member of the IDEN program, contributing to course development, instructional innovation, and course assessment. This role also includes participation in faculty governance, program and college service, and support of IDEN's partnerships and strategic initiatives across campus. This is a non-tenure track appointment, dedicated to advancing IDEN's unique pedagogy in project-based, student-centered learning. This position is anticipated to be hired at the Assistant Teaching Professor rank; however, qualified candidates may be considered at the Associate Teaching rank.

The Integrated Design Engineering (IDEN) program offers a Bachelor of Science degree accredited under the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) general criteria. IDEN integrates traditional engineering disciplines, such as Aerospace, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, within a hands-on, interdisciplinary curriculum that emphasizes design-based and real-world problem-solving. Through our unique approach, students gain expertise in innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration, preparing them for diverse career paths and leadership roles across industries.

**What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**
+ The typical distribution of work for this role is 80% teaching and 20% leadership and service.
+ Your overall course load each Academic Year will be 5 courses. Instructors will teach two to three course sections per semester, with each section typically enrolling 20 to 40 students.
+ Courses taught will include **two hands-on, interdisciplinary learning courses for first-year students** : Engineering Tools and Analysis, First-Year Engineering Projects, and **one** **core engineering course** (such as engineering drawing, CAD or materials science).
+ Potential to teach additional sophomore or junior-level design courses in the future, with a focus on community engagement, entrepreneurship, and other interdisciplinary themes.
+ Leadership and service supports the IDEN program's partnerships and strategic initiatives, including collaboration with college and campus-wide interdisciplinary efforts, student mentorship and advising, fostering an inclusive, student-centered learning environment, and leading events, training, and other community-building activities for students, alumni, and faculty.
**What You Should Know**
+ The anticipated start date for this position is Fall 2025, however a later start date may be negotiated.
+ The selected candidate will be offered a multi-year contract which may be renewable; specific term length will vary based on start date.
**What We Can Offer**
+ The anticipated salary range for this position at the Assistant Teaching Professor rank is $83,000-$93,000 academic year salary.
+ Qualified candidates will be considered for Associate Teaching Professor rank. The full salary range is $83,000-$115,000, dependent on rank.
+ A relocation stipend is available within CEAS guidelines.

_At Assistant Teaching Professor Rank:_
+ Candidate must have earned a doctorate degree in engineering or engineering education.
Or
+ A master's degree in engineering or engineering education and at least 5 years of professional experience as an engineer or engineering educator.
_At Associate Teaching Professor Rank:_
+ For a candidate to be considered for appointment to the Associate Teaching Professor rank, the applicant must also have a minimum 6 years of teaching undergraduate engineering courses at a higher education level and meet unit criteria at this level.
