4 Year Degree Responsible to the Director of Sports Medicine for demonstrating and expanding basic knowledge and skills in standard prevention, emergency care, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques; following standard principles and using appropriate medical terminology; participating as a team member in a collaborative environment; actively contributing to the completion of team goals and assigned tasks; clearly communicating in both written and verbal form; complying with and having basic knowledge of policies and procedures; referring to supervisors for questions regarding policy and procedure-related decisions; typically working under general supervision and using established procedures and protocols; following the recommended approach to assigned work to facilitate the achievement of desired results; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of casting, splinting, and injection prep in an outpatient sports medicine clinic. Knowledge of orthopedic bracing. Knowledge of athlete monitoring methods and ability to use data analysis to alter training programs. Knowledge of baseline and post-injury concussion testing and management. Ability to use ARMS management systems software. Ability to use electronic medical records system (EMR). Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to understand NCAA Division I policies and procedures. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher. Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a certified athletic trainer (certified graduate assistantship accepted). National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) certification at the time of hire. CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer or equivalent along with the eligibility for State of Tennessee licensure, at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in sport science or a related field. Ability to apply casting and splinting material as directed by the team physician. Documented expertise using Healthy Roster EMR. 1-2 years experience with NCAA Division I Collegiate Athletics.
