Description:
The Assistant Athletic Trainer will work alongside the current Assistant Athletic Trainer and supervise the care of student-athletes competing in the Monroe-Bronx athletic program. Responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of injuries within the university's comprehensive sports medicine program and under the direction of the standing orders set by the university's Chief Medical Director.
Primary Responsibilities: Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses Evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries Collect annual physicals Providing counseling and education to student-athletes Athletic training administrative duties Collaborate in scheduling of medical coverage for home and away competitions including set up and breakdown of water, ice, training table, medical supplies, etc. Game and practice coverage for all sports programs Travel to National Tournaments Recordkeeping and documentation Work with doctors and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student-athletes Maintain inventory, ordering and stocking of supplies Maintenance of Athletic Training Room Ability to make sound decisions in the best interest of the program
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization with professional experience in collegiate athletics Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) State Athletic Training Licensure Familiarity with NCAA, NAIA or NJCAA governing rules Ability to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, have the ability to travel, and possess communication skills to work with a diverse constituency including students, parents, coaches, faculty, staff, administration, and outside contacts Flexibility to attend functions organized by Monroe University with intent to educate, share, and celebrate the Monroe University philosophy and the success of our studentsCreate a Job Alert for Similar Jobs About Monroe University-Bronx About Monroe College: Monroe College was founded in 1933 with a single goal: to educate men and women for a successful future.
