The Department of Justice, Office of Attorney General Liz Murrill, is seeking applications for an Assistant Attorney General/Section Chief in the Criminal Division, Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. Salary offered will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Juris Doctorate Degree required;
+ Must possess a license to practice law in the State of Louisiana;
+ Must be in good standing with the Louisiana Bar Association;
+ Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a criminal prosecutor in a court room setting;
+ Ability to travel (including overnight travel) for state wide, state court appearances and continuing education and other conferences, as required.

The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Attorney General/Section Chief to join our team who will aid in the investigation, prosecution, and resolution of Medicaid fraud cases while protecting the integrity of the Medicaid program. As an Assistant Attorney General/Section Cheif in the Medicaid Fraud Unit, you will play an essential role in the prevention, detection, and prosecution of fraudulent activities that abuse the Medicaid system.
Examples of Work
The duties and requirements of an Assistant Attorney General/Section Chief in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit shall include, but is not limited to the following:
+ Supervise direct report attorneys on pending prosecutions, charging decisions, court hearings, motions, trial and pre-trial preparations, plea negotiations and appellate matters;
+ Monitor, run and analyze weekly pending prosecution reports to ensure case progress;
+ Attend required management meetings;
+ Hold quarterly attorney meetings;
+ Attend all attorney, investigative and analytical case reviews;
+ Review and approve any and all arrest warrants, search warrants, and investigatory subpoenas that fall under the authority of his/her direct report attorneys;
+ Hold all pre-arrest meetings with attorneys and agents, as appropriate;
+ Perform any additional duties assigned by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit Deputy Director and/or Director.
