Assistant Banquet Manager
Yuma Country Club is looking for an engaging professional to join our private country club food and beverage team as our new Assistant Banquet Manager. We look for a professional with high volume & high-end Banquet experience   We look for a hospitality professional who is engaging, able to lead the banquet team, and with great organizational skills the role's main objective is to assist our Events Coordinator in all aspects of events set up, preparation and execution.   General Purpose:   Assists the banquet manager in the day-to-day operations of the Food and Beverage Banquet department to include all food and beverage requirements being delivered to specified locations and according to the detailed instructions on the Banquet Event Order.    Essential Duties: Ensures quality and timely communication between Food and Beverage department, Kitchen, Convention and Catering Services regarding any changes, adjustments, or before, during and after a banquet function.  Provides daily support and guidance to Food and Beverage Banquet personnel.  Monitors job performance to ensure a successful meeting/banquet experience by our guest. Inspects and ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of all function space, public areas and service areas on all banquet levels. Keeps an inventory of equipment and helps to ensure the cleanliness of equipment. Ensure accurate and timely invoicing for all services rendered, to include recording events on the POS system. Posts all charges relating to food and beverage at the close of functions and calculates distribution of gratuity. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Assistant Banquet Manager, Banquet Bartender, Banquet Captain, Banquet Chef, Banquet Server, Catering Coordinator. Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate.  Develops ongoing training programs. Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses. Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction. Communicates any changes or new policies and procedures to the department. Regular and reliable attendance.  Conducts staff meetings with subordinates.   Education/Experience: Associate’s degree (AA) and six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Driver’s License may be required. Alcohol Service Training.   Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences: Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job Knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and POS system.
