The Assistant Banquet Manager will demonstrate the following key characteristics:

Exaggerated attention to detail and ability to train and drive staff to excellence.

Proven ability to effectively lead in a variety of situations with guests and operational needs, flexible leadership style. 

Master Your Craft:

The Assistant Banquet Manager is directly responsible for overseeing the banquets, outside catering, and events operations, ensuring the highest quality in service, food, and production.

The Assistant Banquet Manager will engage and motivate the F&B teams to achieve goals while managing labor costs.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Understanding of high-end luxury Resort products.

Demonstrate adaptability to live in a remote location.

Bilingual - Spanish & English

When dealing with guests and internal customers you live by the Golden Rule.

You will use your unique personality and service style to fulfill the Four Seasons Brand and Resort standards creating a special and memorable experience! 

What you will do:

Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees and supervisors in the Hotel’s Banquet Department to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met, long-range strategic planning for outlet operation.

Be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns, or special requests from guests, clients, and group contacts.

Coordinate set-up requirements for hotel and off-site functions according to the banquet event order.

Communicate directly with group contacts, Catering Managers, and Conference Services Managers to ensure all details of the function are done.

Ensure quality and timeliness of all food items and provide knowledge of wine and spirits in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience.

Work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Culinary, and Director of Catering to design an effective menu and wine list while ensuring excellent product quality at a fair price. Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.

Work closely with the Director of Events and Style to operate and produce a unique event with Tamarindo Style. Participate in the design process with the events and production team.

Coordinate set up and operations of external vendors working on banquet events, in collaboration with the Events and Conference Team.

Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control.

Observe the physical condition of facilities, decoration inventory, and set up equipment in the banquet area and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.
