Assistant Biologist - Environmental Services (Minneapolis)

The Assistant Biologist will support multi-disciplinary survey and monitoring teams in construction and restoration monitoring, vegetation mapping, sensitive species surveys, jurisdictional delineations and other field work for various types of projects, including high-voltage transmission line routing, power generation construction activities and water treatment facilities.

Assist with field studies, including habitat assessments, aquatic studies and wildlife surveys.Assist in conducting ecological risk assessments and collecting project-related data for analysis in environmental and ecological impact projects.Assist in preparation of technical reports such as species surveys, mitigation and monitoring plans, biological assessments and impact statements.Assist with conducting habitat evaluations and presence/absence surveys to evaluate potential project impacts to sensitive habitats and special status species.Assist in conducting environmental and ecological compliance audits.Assist in the monitoring of mitigation sites including wildlife and vegetation studies.Provide assistance in utilizing GIS data for vegetation and wetland map production in accordance with standards and industry best practices.Assist in developing project permitting strategies to comply with state and federal laws and regulations such as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Endangered Species Act, and the Clean Water Act.Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.Performs other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards.
