Target Base Salary Range: $67,000 - $80,000 (DOE)
The Assistant Branch Manager provides day to day support to the Branch Manager with the critical issues of branch operation and profitability, including sales, sales growth, budgeting, gross margins, operating expenses, safety, customer service, inventory, equipment, building and vehicles, community relations, accounts receivable and resolution of personnel issues. This position will also have oversight of the distribution and filling functions for the location. Supervises and coordinates activities of all drivers.Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.Directly supervises two or more employees in the day‐to‐day operations of the location including compliance, retail sales, warehousing and distribution. Supports both the scheduling and performance management efforts for retail store personnel.Recruit, retain and develop the necessary team within your region to ensure your team and region succeed in achieving results.Participates in the execution of marketing plans to support the penetration of key market segments in collaboration with our Sales and Operations teams and outside vendors. Assists with sales promotional activities, merchandising and displays.Collaborates with outside sales to ensure order accuracy and properly scheduled customer deliveries.Assists with managing the branch inventory, daily inventory cycle counts and maintains showroom and warehouse appearance.Assists with managing all hard goods receiving and all dynamic deployment (hard goods inter‐branch orders) daily.Helps monitor SAP reports daily such as open order/delivery reports, billing and delivery block reports and open Purchase Order (PO) reports. Responsible for Daily Cash Reconciliation (DCR). Ensures daily completion and that all errors are addressed and bank deposits are initiated.Works with our hardware vendors to schedule and hold monthly vendor product training sessions.Assists with associate training in procedural areas such as following all Airgas Operating Standards and safety regulations.Works in partnership with corporate accounts receivable to manage branch credits and collections.Responsible for the overall Safety, Quality, Service and Cost control of the Distribution team.Manages all Class A and Class B licensed personnel in accordance with company policies by hiring, training, motivating, planning and directing work, managing performance and resolving associate issues so that assigned performance targets are met or exceeded.Works with the regional safety officer to coordinate the procedures required for compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, and state and local regulations.Creates, implements and revises, as needed, standard operational practices. Responsible for all truck and forklift maintenanceMaintaining all drivers' files and maintenance records in accordance with federal/state regulations.Represents company in response to traffic violations; handles accident reporting for fleet.Works closely with internal customers to ensure customer needs are met in a timely mannerEnsures safety rules are strictly observed & safety training is regularly scheduled, conducted & documented, corrects unsafe practices or conditions without delay, promotes safety awareness of employees and creates a mechanism in which the supervisors are actively participating and held accountable.Ensures all accidents and/or injuries are reported within 24 hours and properly investigated. Comply with all Airgas safety rules and company policies.Responsible for safely handling and filling gas products into gas cylinders in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and meeting the standard operating procedures of Airgas.Other duties as assigned.________________________Are you a MATCH? High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Bachelor’s Degree a plus.Prefer one to three years of experience in an industrial retail, packaged gas industry/plant environment or related industries in operations and/or retail.One year of prior supervisory and/or demonstrated leadership experience.Basic product knowledge of welding, safety, gasses and supplies.SAP or similar software system experience.Strong knowledge of DOT rules and regulationsStrong comprehension of MSDS and other OSHA regulationsExcellent oral and written communication skills.Must be customer service oriented and able to interact with the public in a professional manner.Must be able to work flexible hours to meet customer needs and management expectations.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be detail-oriented with good organizational skills.Must have good math skills; ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages; ability to handle cash transactions accurately.Possess conceptual understanding of industrial gas products, production, distribution applications and equipmentWorking knowledge of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing practices desired.Significant training in Safety and Compliance (OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA) a) Compliance with applicable federal, state, local regulatory procedures (CGMP, DOT, OSHA, FDA)Must have extensive coordination experience in a multi team environment.Must be able to use Microsoft Office suite of applications – Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
