Assistant Branch Manager

This position is Monday through Friday, no weekends, evenings or holidays! The Assistant Branch Manager will provide supervision and back-up for Tellers and New Account Representatives. This person must have the ability to communicate effectively while working quickly and accurately. Employee will have extensive contact with customers, vendors, the general public, and bank staff and will interact in a professional and courteous manner, and conduct him/herself in such relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall efficiency and image of the bank. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Represent the Bank in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a “consider it done” attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs. Provide superior internal and external customer service while demonstrating self-governance, courtesy, and respect toward external customers as well as organization personnel. Keep management appropriately informed of significant issues, problems and complaints. Supervises Tellers and New Accounts Representatives. Resolve customer concerns/complaints, maintain appropriate contact with customers through verbal and written communication. Monitor hourly employees’ time/schedule and time sheets. Complete Annual Performance Evaluations for each branch staff member. Conduct monthly certifications. Complete month-end reporting, including, but not limited to, balancing teller differences, closed accounts, manager’s report and security report. Conduct weekly/monthly staff meetings. Perform all Teller functions, including, but not limited to, processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, stop payments, selling cashier checks and money orders, processing account holds. Perform or assist with all personal bank functions, including, but not limited to opening variety of accounts (checking, savings, business, IRA, CD, HSA, Safe Deposit Boxes), account maintenance, create and troubleshoot online banking accounts, ordering checks and debit cards, processing bankcard disputes. Refer customers and prospects to bank services, explaining a variety of account types and services. Assist Branch Manager to achieve all annual growth objectives and other projects and responsibilities as needed. Participate in projects and assignments, which may include obtaining information and research from a variety of sources. May originate consumer loans; maintain up to date training and adhere to loan compliance standards. Complete required bank trainings courses within assigned time frames. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job. Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. About You QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 5 years progressive experience in banking, preferably in retail or operations Previous supervisor experience preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY: Demonstrated effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, using considerable tact, diplomacy, and judgment. Strong organizational, customer service, communication, and decision-making skills. Able to maintain confidential and sensitive information. Experience working with all levels of employees and external customers. Well-organized with ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, with others in the Bank to perform effective reviews and to report the results. Ability to respond to common inquiries of complaints of customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Sufficient banking, organizational and technical skills to assist in performing all required reviews. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
