Purpose

To assist in the supervision of a specific group of Building Attendant II in their performance of custodial maintenance tasks in university facilities according to a specific schedule and/or Team Cleaning procedures

ResponsibilitiesGeneral Cleaning
Quality-Works according to established procedures using prescribed equipment.
Quantity-Maintains work schedule as assigned. Willingly accepts work assignments.
Overtime: before and after shift, weekend, holiday, and emergency responseLeadership:
Supervise and coordinate the work of one or more Building Attendant II's and inspect completed work. Inspect completed work to ensure correct and timely completion. Provide employee with basic instructions and maintain clear two-way communication with others.Administrative:
When necessary, prepare documents such as: key logs, security logs, time reports, FAMIS, first reports of injury, inspection reports, supply orders, absence documentation and training records. Meet deadlines and perform complete and error-free work. Perform other duties as assigned. Timely notification of supervisor and management of concerns as indicated by leadership and when necessary, perform coaching and redirection of employees to meet expectations.Quality Assurance:
Ensure that services and event set-ups are delivered per instructions, schedule, and/or work order. Conduct inspections of buildings, compliance with procedures and standards, and correctness of paperwork. Document inspections and corrective actions (excluding discipline). Ensure timely reporting, notification and follow-up of building maintenance and custodial issues. Respond to customer complaints.Abides by the Work Rules:
Abide by the work rules as described in employee orientations. Professional appearance and demeanor-follows uniform policy. Dependable, reports to work on time. Cooperative, works effectively with others and independently. Readily accepts work assignments and supervision. Has not received formal discipline within the evaluation period.Safety and Repair:
Regularly use PPE, safety shoes and safety equipment. Performs all tasks within established safety guidelines as instructed, such as no lost time injuries. Reports unsafe conditions in a timely manner. Report broken equipment and equipment malfunctions to supervisors. Safely operates custodial equipment.Security:
Secures buildings and rooms on schedule and/or after cleaning as appropriate. Follow correct unlocking, locking and alarm procedures as instructed. Follows key control/access card procedures and guidelines. Carries UT ID as all times during work hours. Responsible for ensuring proper security measures are followed by employees. Reports missing and lost equipment immediately. Ensure all applicable exterior and interior doors are locked and secured, and alarms are set.Emergency cleaning, Report repairs as needed, Work events as requested, Work as a backup for BAL. Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Experience following basic work instructions. One year of experience in custodial, environmental services, hospitality, warehouse, production or facilities maintenance. Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and write work materials and follow written instructions. Desire to work on a team. Stable work history. Must have a reliable means of communicating with the department outside of work by phone.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

High school graduation or GED. More than two years custodial experience in any of the following fields: custodial, hospitality, environmental services, warehouse, production or facilities maintenance. Some experience in supervising, training, inspecting and scheduling custodial work. OS1 experience. Successful completion of the OS1 Comprehensive Certification Program.

Salary Range

$39,520+ depending on qualifications

Work Shift

Monday through Friday work week, 5:30PM to 2:00AM shift. Overtime required with little or no notice.
