Assistant Building Supervisor
**Job Title: Supervisor** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor to oversee a team of skilled tradespeople including carpenters, painters, and maintenance workers. The Supervisor will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and supervising the maintenance, alteration, and repair of building structures and components. This role requires hands-on experience in carpentry, roofing, painting, and lock shop tasks, as well as the ability to manage and develop staff. **Responsibilities** + Oversee a team of carpenters, painters, and maintenance workers. + Prepare, schedule, and supervise maintenance and repair work. + Perform carpentry, roofing, painting, and lock shop tasks as needed. + Keep records of time and materials used for each job. + Supervise complex maintenance tasks requiring a high degree of skill. + Provide assistance and guidance on challenging jobs. + Estimate personnel and material requirements for projects. + Assign tasks and oversee masonry work. + Requisition materials from the warehouse or suppliers. + Inspect scaffolding and hazardous work to ensure safety. + Compile reports of work performed by the maintenance crew. + Plan and schedule projects, maintaining records and preparing reports. + Review all work orders before and after completion. + Provide mentoring and training to staff members. + Assist in hiring and training new employees. + Develop training materials and conduct training sessions and workshops. + Monitor individual and team job performance metrics through CMMS. + Inform supervisors of completed and outstanding work orders. + Review and evaluate the work of assigned staff, taking corrective action when necessary. + Demonstrate leadership in evaluating, developing, and motivating employees. + Assist with other administrative tasks as required. + Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions. + Respond to emergency needs 24/7. **Essential Skills** + High school diploma or GED. + Knowledge and confidence to make decisions regarding the safe operation of building systems. + Experience with CMMS. + Ability to oversee a shop of 20 personnel. + Experience in commercial or industrial settings (no residential). **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Facilities maintenance experience. + Electrical and preventive maintenance knowledge. + CFC certification preferred. + Journeyman status preferred. + Experience with heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and control systems. + Knowledge of motors, switch gears, installation, building repairs, and service. **Why Work Here?** This position offers the opportunity to transition to a permanent role with great benefits, including tuition reimbursement for employees and their family members.
