Assistant Chef Convention & Banquets/Main Kitchen (Commission) - Vdara

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Vdara Hotel and Spa is in search of a versatile Assistant Chef to lead operations in both the main kitchen and the Convention and Banquets kitchen. This exciting role offers the chance to earn commission in addition to a competitive base salary.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality and presentation of food remains top-notch while providing guidance and training to cooks and master cooks across different kitchen areas. WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Maintain quality and proper presentation of foodDrive the customer relation management system by ensuring that all such orders are handled correctlyCommunicate with chefs, management, employees and guest efficiently with proper reporting, and meetingsSchedule and maintain the budgeted labor costs as well as potential food costUnderstand and utilize Stratton Warren system properly for purchasing, release orders and cost transfer.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

Either a High school diploma or equivalent.Two (2) years of experience in a high volume setting.Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT?

Experience in Convention and BanquetsExtensive knowledge and skill experience in all aspects of kitchen operations and equipmentKnowledge of soup, sauce, meat, fish, poultry, casserole, and vegetable preparationsAble to lead and mentor a team
