Assistant Chief Engineer - Data Center Facility

What this job involves -

As an Assistant Chief Engineer for Data Center Facilities at JLL, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of mission-critical data center environments. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer to oversee facility operations, manage technical teams, and implement strategies to optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency of data center infrastructure.

Your day-to-day tasks will include -

Assisting in the management and coordination of data center facility operations and maintenance activitiesSupervising and mentoring technical staff, including engineers, technicians, and contractorsMonitoring and analyzing critical systems performance, including power, cooling, and network infrastructureDeveloping and implementing preventive maintenance schedules and proceduresCollaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory requirementsParticipating in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrade projectsResponding to and managing critical incidents and emergency situationsPreparing technical reports, documentation, and presentations for management and clients

Desired experience and technical skills -

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center operations and managementStrong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, and network architectureFamiliarity with industry standards and best practices (e.g., ASHRAE, TIA, Uptime Institute)Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skillsStrong leadership and team management abilitiesProficiency in using facility management software and building automation systemsValid certification in at least one relevant area (e.g., CDCP, DCPRO, or equivalent)

Preferred:

Professional Engineer (PE) licenseExperience with energy efficiency initiatives and sustainable data center practicesKnowledge of project management methodologiesMulti-site data center management experience#HVACjobs#BEjobs#OEjobs

Estimated total compensation for this position:

85,000.00 – 89,500.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
