Assistant Chief Engineer/Maintenance Manager
Join the team as our Assistant Chief Engineer/Maintenance Manager. Full-Time

The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for assisting the Chief Engineer in overseeing the maintenance operations of the resort.  The duties of an Assistant Chief Engineer in a hotel are diverse and crucial for maintaining the hotel’s infrastructure and ensuring smooth operations.

Key responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repair

Routine Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of the hotel’s facilities to identify and address maintenance issues. Repairs: Perform or oversee repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems. Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance programs to avoid breakdowns and extend the life of equipment.

Safety and Compliance

Safety Protocols: Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including fire safety, emergency procedures, and OSHA regulations. Compliance: Ensure the hotel complies with local, state, and federal regulations regarding building codes and safety standards. Lead resort Health & Safety Committee

Operational Support

Work Orders: Manage and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely completion. Coordination: Coordinate with other departments to ensure maintenance activities do not disrupt hotel operations. Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and order new supplies as needed.

Team Management

Supervision: Supervise and train maintenance staff, ensuring they follow proper procedures and safety protocols. Scheduling: Create and manage work schedules for the maintenance team. Performance Evaluation: Evaluate the performance of maintenance staff and provide feedback and training as needed.

Energy Management

Energy Efficiency: Implement energy-saving measures to reduce the hotel’s energy consumption and costs. Monitoring: Monitor energy usage and make adjustments to improve efficiency.

Guest Services

Guest Requests: Respond to guest requests for maintenance services promptly and efficiently.

Customer Service:

Ensure a high level of customer service by maintaining the hotel’s facilities in excellent condition

Qualifications:

Educational Background

Degree: A bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred Certifications: Any building trade license or certificate

Experience

Industry Experience: At least 10 years of experience in hotel or building services, or other relevant engineering/maintenance fields Technical Skills: Solid understanding of all phases of hotel engineering, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and boiler maintenance Understanding of Fire panel and alarm systems Posted September 26, 2024
