Department/Unit: Patient Care Serv Admin Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $170,509.91 - $281,341.36 The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer is a key member of the nursing leadership team, supporting professional nursing practice that drives high quality, safe care leading to excellent patient experiences. This leader works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to drive positive change, grow services, support organizational initiatives while maintaining an expert nursing workforce. The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for designing and monitoring the overall approach to the patient and family experience of the organization, providing leadership for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the nursing strategic plans to align with organization mission, vision, and values. B. Albany Medical Center Nursing Leadership 1. Collaborates with CNO to lead facility wide nursing initiatives2. Role models professional nursing commitment and accountability for expert nursing care3. Accountable for the execution of the Nursing Strategic Plan that is aligned with the Strategic Plan of the Albany Med Health System (AMHS)4. Able to work collaboratively with hospital and community stakeholders5. Uses Evidence Based Practice (EBP) framework in healthcare design 6. Collaborates with CNO and Director of Nursing Resources for annual capital and staffing budget planning7. Participates as a member of the Hospital Labor Management Executive Team which includes negotiating a new NYSNA contract on a cycle outlined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), attending labor management meetings, advising on grievance resolutions, developing memorandum of agreements (MOAs) as necessary, and other assignments during the lifecycle of the CBA8. More than 80% of time spent on own tasks. + Immediate supervision over a small group of assigned employees that perform similar tasks. More than 20% of time is spent assigning, reviewing or checking staff work. + Supervises a small group of employees while assigning, checking and maintaining workflow. Makes recommendations as to employment and evaluation of others. + Assists other supervisors in an advisory capacity + Instructs and/or trains other employees. May assign, check and evaluate performance during training period. + Supervises large groups in complex tasks, while providing discipline and enforcement of policies/procedures. + Manages through others with full responsibility for quality of work, financial considerations and personnel decisions. + Manages operations via other supervisors or leaders who report in to him/her.
