Summary About the Position: Serves as a senior technical advisor and recognized authority to the DACID Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director, and Chief of Staff (COS) on a wide range of issues and directs programs that include developing significant aspects of key administrative policies for DACID, DA, and DOD investigative programs to mission support, internal management, and administration requiring collaboration and participation in top management discussions, decisions, and policy making. Responsibilities Develop significant aspects of key administrative policies and procedures for the command. Plan, direct, and execute command-wide staff-level investigative programs and operations. Develop/implement key program objectives based on new or revised legislation initiatives. Establish requirements for projects and programs to eliminate voids and to ensure initiation of programs. Make decisions for assigned programs in high-level internal and external meetings. Establish and approve long-range work plans and schedules. Balance workload among subordinates to increase overall effectiveness and efficiency of operations Prepare performance standards and complete employee evaluations. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes execute command-wide projects and initiatives; utilize all available resources such as: personnel, organizational positions, and spaces to ensure the command meets organizational objectives; provide sound technical advice on a wide range of command-wide issues; and carry out personnel management duties such as: evaluating employee performance, assigning and reviewing work products, and providing advice counsel, and instructions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Managing Human Resources Organizational Awareness Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Mandatory Training Requirement - If the selectee has not completed a federal civilian supervisory development course within the past three years, he/she must complete the Army Civilian Supervisory Development Course within one year of appointment. As a supervisor, you must comply with the Army Civilian Education System (CES) course and timeline requirements. The Supervisory Development Course (SDC) must be completed within one year of placement into a supervisory position and then completed as a refresher course every three years.
