Assistant Civil Engineer
Job Description Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Perform work using computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Maximo, Sewer Viewer, SCADA, FOCAL, Profile, PRISM, and Slicer. Download, process, and import data from different flow meter types and pump stations into the SacSewer flow monitoring system. Review flow monitoring data and identify/report issues to the flow monitoring team through FOCAL. Troubleshoot flow monitoring site problems. Review, clean up, and finalize historical flow meter and rain gauge data. Submit Maximo service requests to update flow meter data in Maximo and Sewer Viewer. Respond to flow meter data requests. Create memos and reports. Maintain the flow monitoring databases. Transfer data from the old flow monitoring system to the new system. Assist in developing workflow processes to update data in databases and document these processes. Set up meter alarms. Assist in RDI/I analysis. Provide office support to flow monitoring field staff. Maintain effective working relationships with flow monitoring field crew, coworkers, and other groups/departments. Attend field visits with the flow monitoring staff as needed. Compensation: $47.64/hr to $58.25/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access. Comfort with data-related tasks, including identifying problems in data, processing, and cleaning data. Degree in engineering or physics, or an Engineer-in-Training certificate. Experience with hydraulic and sewerage systems.
