Job Title: Full-Time Assistant Clinical Instructor – NursingLocation: UPMC Jameson School of Nursing Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Clinical Instructor to join the nursing team at UPMC Jameson School of Nursing. This full-time position involves the clinical instruction of nursing students, providing them with valuable hands-on experiences in patient care during their clinical practicum. The successful candidate will have clinical expertise as a professional nurse and the ability to mentor, guide, and evaluate nursing students throughout their educational journey. Responsibilities: + Commitment to Nursing and Education:Demonstrate a strong commitment to nursing, the school, and program goals by exploring innovative teaching strategies in both clinical conferences and on the unit. + Role Model:Serve as a professional role model for students, exemplifying clinical competence, professionalism, and compassionate care in the clinical setting. + Collaboration and Teamwork:Work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other healthcare professionals to achieve school and organizational goals that align with the mission and values of UPMC Jameson. + Communication and Trust:Maintain open, effective communication with healthcare team members to achieve academic and organizational goals, fostering an environment of trust, respect, professionalism, and care. + Inclusive Learning Environment:Promote a diverse and inclusive learning environment, supporting the varied learning needs of students in clinical practice. Evaluate student performance to ensure care aligns with evidence-based nursing practices, sharing outcomes with faculty and other nursing schools. + Conflict Management:Address and resolve conflicts effectively, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment for students and faculty. + Professional Development:Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of clinical teaching practices. + Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. + Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing practice required. Precepting experience required; clinical teaching experience in a prelicensure program preferred. + Education Requirements: Must be enrolled in a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program with a 3-year completion plan. + Licensure: Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) required. + Certifications: + CPR Certification for BLS for Health Care Providers required. + Act 33, 34, and 73 (FBI) clearances required. + CPR certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire based on American Heart Association (AHA) standards, which include both a didactic and skills demonstration component. + Clearances: + Act 33 with renewal + Act 34 with renewal + Act 73 (FBI) Clearance with renewal Additional Requirements: + Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located, or if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. + If hired with an out-of-state NLC license, the candidate must apply for licensure in the state where the facility is located within 60 days of changing their residency to that state. Appointment and Retention:Appointment to and retention of this position are contingent upon the approval of the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
