The Assistant Coach of Men’s and Women’s Cross Country, Track & Field (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wyjz-UtCgGXIKhlkOhbuTsNyxhApk15A/view?usp=sharing) will assist the Head Coach of with all aspects of the overall program operation for six sports and 100 or more student-athletes. The Assistant Coach is responsible to assist the Head Coach with the overall organization, administration, implementation and development of the men’s and women’s cross country, indoor and outdoor track programs; performs all duties necessary to assist in developing competitive, representative and successful Division III programs; provides additional leadership and guidance and assists in creating an environment where student-athletes are challenged, supported, and can experience success while growing as individuals. While the majority of the Assistant Coach’s time will be spent instructing student-athletes, they will also assist with recruitment and retention efforts, academic support, fundraising and day-to-day management of the programs, including operational and logistic assistance with home events.
This is a full-time 10-month (August – May) position that will be an annual salary of $38,000. This position will be primarily located on the Gorham campus and requires travel.

Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis on one of the following areas: teaching, coaching, leadership, athletic administration, sports management or physical education.
+ A minimum of two years of coaching experience at the high school level or above.
+ Strong work ethic, proven commitment to student-athlete development & success.
+ Commitment to departmental policies, conference and NCAA guidelines.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Willingness to work as a member of a team and collaborate with peer programs.
