Assistant Controller
Assistant Controller Job Description Summary of Position: The position is responsible for the accounting practices and policies, the maintenance and the preparation of financial reports, including monthly financial reports, plan, forecast, and physical inventory. Accountabilities: - Oversee accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Revenue Recognition, and Asset Management. - Development, analysis, and interpretation of finance information to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and operating effectiveness of the organization. Process improvements and updates to work instructions. - Involved in the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes, and maintains other planning and control procedures, including the cost accounting system, and analyzes and reports variances. - Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary. - Perform and be responsible for Plant Physical Inventory (Twice a year, March & September). - This individual and the accounting staff will be expected to work closely with other department groups on problems involving accounting systems and financial planning.
