Assistant Controller
Description We are in the process of expanding our team in Menlo Park, California and are looking for an Assistant Controller. In this role, you will be a part of our finance team, working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be expected to assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, support the budgeting process, maintain financial records, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities: • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness • Support the budgeting process by tracking and monitoring budget variances • Maintain accurate financial records in line with accounting standards • Collaborate with program managers to track funding and expenses effectively • Aid in audits by providing necessary documentation when required • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure smooth financial operations • Contribute to the development of financial policies and procedures to improve financial management • Utilize accounting software systems such as NetSuite for efficient management of financial data • Apply knowledge of US GAAP, federal funds, fund management, and non-profit accounting in performing job duties • Handle auditing tasks and manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) Requirements • Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role or related field. • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems. • Extensive knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). • Demonstrable experience in Auditing. • Familiarity with Accounting 2000 is necessary. • Proficiency in using NetSuite is required. • Must have a solid understanding of US GAAP. • Experience in handling Federal Funds is a prerequisite. • Demonstrable experience in Fund Management. • Knowledge and experience in Non-profit Accounting is necessary.
