Assistant Controller
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller in the manufacturing industry based in Vonore, Tennessee. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions. Responsibilities: • Oversee the preparation and execution of journal entries • Handle month-end close procedures and reconcile accounts • Perform cost accounting tasks and manage inventory • Assist with the creation of budgets and financial forecasting • Conduct cash forecasting to ensure financial stability • Prepare for and participate in audits to ensure compliance • Ensure compliance with SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley regulations • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and potential issues • Perform variance analysis and prepare financial statements • Utilize Accounting Software Systems efficiently for accounting functions. For immediate consideration please contact Lisa Coker at 865-370-2084 to set up an interview Requirements • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role or related field. • Proficiency in accounting software systems. • Thorough understanding of accounting functions. • Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). • Familiarity with auditing procedures. • Competence in billing functions. • Knowledge of MAPICS and AS400 systems. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred. • University degree in Accounting or related field. • Experience in cost accounting, including standard and manufacturing cost accounting. • Knowledge of SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. • Experience in annual inventory management. • Ability to prepare and maintain journal entries. • Experience in month-end close procedures. • Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting procedures. • Experience in cash forecasting. • Ability to prepare financial statements.
