Acting as a strategic partner, the
Assistant Controller will ensure the financial health of the organization by overseeing financials, conducting thorough contract reviews, and coordinating audits. This role is essential in supporting the company's growth while upholding the highest standards of accuracy, accountability, and control.

A strong command of financial accounting principles (US GAAP), deep expertise in internal controls, and the ability to assess and mitigate control risks are crucial. With exceptional analytical and
problem-solving skills, the candidate must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities with precision.
In this role, you will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including the Global Segment Controller team, operations/shared service center, the Corporate Financial Controller’s team, external and internal auditors, the business unit CFO, GM, General Counsel, and other key leaders. Together,
you’ll drive improved efficiency, transparency, and enhanced controls within the financial close and reporting cycle.
Success in this role requires not only strong technical expertise but also the ability to lead change initiatives, improve accounting policies, and streamline business processes. Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal, alongside a strong executive presence, will be essential for
effectively partnering across the organization and driving meaningful improvements.
What are we looking for?
University degree in Accounting (Required) 8+ years of accounting or financial audit experience in a corporate environment and/or public accounting firm (Required) CPA or other professional certification (Required) Graduate level degree (Preferred) SAP Experience or Equivalent ERP system (Preferred)What will be your key responsibilities?
Oversee and manage complex contract reviews, ensuring proper accounting and leading consultations with Corporate as required. Address ad hoc accounting questions raised throughout the business unit to ensure compliance with Finance Manual and US GAAP. Lead governance and controls communications strategy (Newsletters, functional updates, key reminders and topics) Develop and lead governance and controls training program to ensure entire business understands key topics within the Finance Manual (fixed assets, leases, revenue recognition and contracts, etc.) Perform periodic balance sheet and P&L reviews to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial reporting. This includes analyzing and verifying information provided to ensure compliance with our Finance Manual and US GAAP; as well as consistency with business reporting presentations. As needed, present quarterly balance sheet reviews, governance and control KPIs, and other ad hoc items to the Global Segment Controller or Leadership Team Partner with shared service center to ensure period close activities are performed accurately and efficiently, manage issues identified during close, and drive process improvements. Implement new accounting standards under the requisite financial framework. Build and maintain effective relationships with commercial to streamline financial processes and communication. Support both internal and external audits with high visibility to Global Segment controller and Mars Inc. Financial Controller. Review quarterly financial reporting packages for completeness and accuracy Leader and/or significant contributor to special projects, transformations and other ad hoc business requests requiring Controllership support. These projects may require presentation to the GM and CFO. Support digital transformation in Controllership as well as supporting the unit in new systems or business model implementations. Act as Controller’s delegate for period close reviews, approvals, and execution of internal controls.What can you expect from Mars?
