Maintaining advanced engineering and manufacturing facilities in NA.Exchanging product, process and benchmarking information with sister units worldwide.Continually improving processes, material and designs to ensure every product exceeds customer specifications while providing unparalleled valueJob DescriptionThe Assistant Controller will report to the Operations Controller and will be accountable for producing timely and accurate financial statements while demonstrating accountability and ownership across the Division. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Accounting Manager to manage workflows, meet all monthly reporting obligations, prepare analysis of financial data and other duties. As a leader for their team, the Assistant Controller will have decision-making authority, use advanced analytical skills and 80/20 thinking to continuously analyze and reduce complexity and provide strategic insight. This role will demonstrate the ability to look ahead and anticipate future trends and not only report actual results but predict future results. The Assistant Controller will oversee the communication of complex financial concepts to all levels and be able to explain the story behind the numbers. This person will be a role model to other team members, develop and motivate peers and demonstrate knowledge of the business and impacts of choices.
Compiles and reports all monthly financial reports required by ITW Financial PoliciesAnnual Plan (Budget) to actual analysis and reportingPrepares and reports Front-To-Back & Segmented P&L data along with sales forecasting analysisReviews and finalizes the financial justification for all Capital & large expense requestsSupervises and participates in preparing audit materials, including any documentation, and ensures that all entries are entered into the system properlyPrepares all payroll related general ledger entriesReviews all General Ledger journal entries for accuracy and completenessCommunicates and coordinates accounting policies, practices, and procedures with department and company managers and officials, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, customers, and the publicAssist Operations, Engineering and Sourcing teams with data and project managementLeading and providing strong guidance with ITW Toolbox initiativesDirectly supervises employee(s) in the accounting areaSupervisory duties in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Tasks include, but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring and training employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees Serving as a backup and/or assisting, as needed, to the Operations Controller and Accounting ManagerOther tasks and duties as assignedQualificationsEducation/Experience: Bachelor’s degree - B.A. /B.S. from four-year College or University in Accounting or Finance.
