Description We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team. This role is based in our Midland, Texas offices, where you will focus on process controls, improvements, and GAAP compliance. As an Assistant Controller, you will assist in various financial operations, from month-end close to providing audit support. Responsibilities: • Handle the full-cycle month-end close process and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP • Take a proactive role in managing financial books, including ledger and reconciliation • Ensure compliance with GAAP and oversee Internal Controls for key business operations • Aid in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to protect the company's assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards • Assist in the annual external audit of financial statements • Collaborate with external agencies for federal, state, and international tax filings • Conduct account Reconciliations including cash reconciliation • Investigate advanced accounting topics and suggest recommendations on the application of accounting principles • Provide existing KPIs and identify new ones as necessary or required • Serve as a thought leader for the implementation and stabilization of key operational software projects • Undertake other projects as assigned. Requirements • Demonstrated expertise in GAAP Accounting • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • Proven work experience as an Assistant Controller or similar role • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations • High attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to direct and supervise • Proficient in accounting software • Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data • Ability to prioritize and multitask • Excellent communication and leadership skills • CPA or CMA certification is a plus Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
