Assistant Controller
Description Exclusive manufacturer, located outside of the Greater Philadelphia area seeks an Assistant Controller with proven cost accounting experience. The responsibilities for this Assistant Controller role will consist of accounts receivable management, accounts payable management, sales tax compliance, fixed asset management, and assisting on an ad hoc basis with financial projects of varying complexities. The ideal Assistant Controller for this role must have knowledge of GAAP, current industry trends, and excellent auditing skills. Responsibilities: + Assist with the operations and procurement teams to maintain a balance between lean manufacturing practices and meeting production department demands. + Handle customer transactions related to accounts receivable, ensuring they are prepared, posted, and verified accurately. + Reconcile purchases with the A/P journal and ensure all receipts are logged into the system, performing three-way-matches of documents for accuracy in inventory postings. + Manage accounts receivable, including periodic reviews of invoice and cash receipt postings, responding to customer inquiries, and reaching out to customers with overdue invoices. + Post incoming payments in the system daily and ensure real-time accuracy of the system's cash balances. + Manage accounts payable, including periodic reviews of vendor invoices and cash disbursements, responding to vendor inquiries, performing expense and vendor analyses, and reaching out to vendors during fiscal period closings. + Collaborate with the Corporate Controller on various accounting tasks, including assisting with month-end close, monthly and quarterly Board reports, bank reconciliations and fixed asset management oversight. + Handle and verify expense reports; reconcile expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records. Requirements The ideal Assistant Controller will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar. CPA preferred.
