Johnson Service Group is recruiting for an Assistant Controller / Accounting Manager
Direct Hire Opportunity – 4 Days onsite (1 hybrid)
Location: Lakewood Ranch, FL
Reports to: SVP of Accounting
Basic Function: Manage the accounting activity for real estate development projects in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and adherence to required internal controls
Primary Responsibilities Include: Lead the accounting close and financial reporting for various portfolios Track project financial performance Modeling complex cash flows and partnership structures to determine risk and return Monthly project forecasts Monthly variance analysis Monthly capital calls Partnership accounting, which includes accounting, reporting, and understanding of partnership agreements and waterfall structures Manage annual audit Ad hoc analysis for potential transactions Supervise accounting personnel Enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and controls Drive continuous process improvement, automation, and efficiencies Other accounting functions as assigned Required Qualifications/Experience: Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting Certified Public Accountant (Required) and/or public accounting experience preferred 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the development/construction industry Demonstrated experience in an accounting supervisory role 1-2 years of JV/Equity Method accounting experience Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis skills required Strong understanding of GAAP accounting Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong work ethic, organizational, and interpersonal skills Team player with excellent communications skills Advanced skills in MS Excel, Yardi experience preferred Possible travel may be required
