Assistant Controller
Job Summary:The Assistant Controller manages accounting teams and operations, resolving technical accounting matters, and driving process improvements. Reporting to the Controller, you will support in overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. You will design and implement accounting processes with efficiency, deliver insights from financial data, and maintain a strong control framework. As a member of the Accounting leadership team, you'll lead Revenue Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll and Procurement.Responsibilities:Financial Reporting: Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Improve reporting to provide enhanced insights for internal partners.Technical Accounting: Drive accurate technical conclusions and recommendations, while working with external consultants and guiding our teams. Provide technical guidance on complex accounting issues, such as revenue recognition, non-standard equity transactions and business combinations. Strong knowledge of relevant accounting standards (e.g. ASC 606, ASC 805, ASC 718 ,etc.). Ability to prepare technical memos for complex transactions.Accounting Operations & Improvement: Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, procurement and general ledger entries. Guide Revenue team through implementation of improved quote-to-cash processes. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial transactions and continuously improve our daily functions around processes, systems, and controls.Month-End & Year-End Close: Drive the month-end and year-end close processes and deliverables. Drive efficiencies in the close process to reduce close timelines without compromising accuracy. Review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis for accuracy and completeness.Internal Controls: Establish, maintain and improve internal controls and financial policies to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist FP&A with the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasting, providing variance analysis and recommending corrective actions.Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors, ensuring that all necessary documentation is provided and that audits are completed in compliance with regulations. Improve audit efficiency and ensure alignment with auditors on conclusions around key technical accounting issues.Team Collaboration & Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting team, providing training and support and fostering a collaborative and productive team environment. Support the Controller in building an accounting function that supports, adds value and acts as a strategic partner to the broader organization.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.CPA certification preferred.Minimum of 4 years of successful engagement in the listed responsibilities, including experience in a supervisory or leadership role.Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes and financial statement preparation.Strong depth of knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.Experience leading an accounting function in large-scale or public company environments combined with experience building accounting processes in smaller companies.Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel and Workday Financials.Experience with Revenue Operations process improvement.Physical/Cognitive Requirements:Prompt and regular attendance at assigned work location.Capability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods.Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate keyboard, computer and other office-related equipment.No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of about 20 lbs of force (e.g., lifting a computer / laptop) may be required.Capability to work with leadership, employees, and members in an appropriate manner.The United States new hire base salary target ranges for this full-time position are:Zone A: $149,450 - $211,100 + equity + benefitsZone B: $164,395 - $232,210 + equity + benefitsZone C: $179,340 - $253,320 equity + benefitsZone D: $194,285 - $274,430 + equity + benefits
