Description We are inviting applications for the role of an Assistant Controller in Sumter, South Carolina. As an integral part of the team, the Assistant Controller will be tasked with a broad range of accounting responsibilities, including oversight for payroll, accounts payable as well as hands on activity with account reconciliations, month-end close, aiding the Controller with the preparation of financial statements, job costing, and adhoc management reporting. This role is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a service-based industry. Responsibilities: • Conduct account reconciliations, identifying and addressing any discrepancies • Assist with month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded • Oversee job costing activities, ensuring costs are accurately allocated • Conduct adhoc management reporting, providing necessary financial insights • Ensure strong adherence to GAAP in all accounting functions • Supervise and guide entry level accounting staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment • Utilize intermediate Excel skills to manage and analyze data • Maintain a strong attention to detail in all work, ensuring accuracy and consistency Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience and ideally in a similar role • Proficient in Account Reconciliation, with a proven track record of accurate and timely reconciliation. • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Journal Entries, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on data analysis. • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
