The Assistant Controller will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the accounting operations of the company. This position will supervise the accounting team, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain robust internal controls, and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for developing teams.

 

Responsibilities

Financial Close Process:

Oversee and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

 

Internal Controls:

Develop, implement, and monitor internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Identify areas for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.

 

Accounting Estimates:

Oversee the development and review of key accounting estimates, including reserves, accruals, and depreciation.Ensure estimates align with applicable accounting standards and company policies.

 

Team Supervision and Development:

Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.Set goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations for team members.Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.

 

Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other applicable regulations.Assist with audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.Support the preparation of tax filings and other regulatory reports.

 

Other Duties:

Assist the Controller with special projects and initiatives as needed.Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management roles.Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks.Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

The expected annual salary for this position is between $94,843.00 and $127,803.00 and will be eligible for incentive pay. This range represents a good faith estimate for the position and actual compensation will be based on numerous factors including knowledge, location, skills, training and experience.
