Description We are searching for a dedicated Assistant Controller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks, including the accurate and timely preparation of financial records and reports, the maintenance of customer credit records, and the resolution of financial inquiries. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. This role is fully onsite in Branchburg, NJ. Experience with nonprofit industry is preferred. Responsibilities: • Oversee the preparation of Financial Statements and enrollment information for audit, ensuring the timely closing of financial records at year end • Accurately review and verify financial information, creating necessary journal entries • Generate financial reports as required by the Finance and Administration departments • Examine expenditures of capital projects and prepare vouchers • Manage the timely reporting of grant reports to Federal, State and local agencies • Develop and review internal accounting controls and operational procedures for Controller's approval • Initiate and coordinate the implementation of a fixed asset module • Manage maintenance of fixed asset and depreciation recording • Liaise with the Director of Financial Aid to reconcile student financial aid • Administer and roll forward all fund balances • Maintain the chart of accounts • Oversee department management in the absence of the Controller Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory • Solid understanding of Accounting Functions is required • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is crucial • Familiarity with Auditing practices is necessary • Experience in Nonprofit industry is highly preferred Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
