Assistant Controller

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller at our location in TAYLOR, Michigan. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing a variety of financial tasks, including accounts receivable and payable, customer credit management, and assisting with the completion of monthly and yearly financials. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, where your skills in organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks will be highly valued.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage accounts receivable and payable operations.
• Ensure punctual payment of purchase invoices and distribution of sales invoices.
• Manage customer credit aspects, terms, and collections.
• Aid in the accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end financials.
• Review and assist in addressing budget variances and engage in monthly/quarterly budget reporting/forecasting.
• Guide department managers on procedures, controls, efficiency, and KPI measurements.
• Safeguard assets, oversee company investments and control costs and procurements.
• Develop ad hoc analysis reports for management and the department.
• Review and assist in addressing all risk and compliance subjects.
• Participate in preparation for the annual audit.
• Lead the team during daily operations and step in during the Controller's absence. Requirements • The applicant should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in handling Month End Close procedures is essential.
• The candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A detail-oriented certification such as CPA or CMA is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting and general ledger function management.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience with financial software systems is required.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
• Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
• Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to foresee potential issues.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
