About the Finance & Operations Team
The Finance team is responsible for the management of Evidence Action's financials in compliance with applicable accounting standards. The Evidence Action finance team helps our various programs carry out their highly impactful work by processing and recording financial transactions, providing useful insights through reporting, assisting with financial planning and budgeting, and ensuring compliance and quality financial stewardship. The team operates in a nearly paperless environment, working with Intacct (a cloud-based accounting system), Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace on a daily basis.
Reporting to the Global Controller, you will lead the US finance team, including all aspects of monthly close, while collaborating to support our matrixed global finance staff, including with audit preparations and Intacct administration. You will supervise a team of 3, including 2 direct reports responsible for Accounts Payable/Receivable.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the US monthly close process, including oversight of journal entry postings and account reconciliations, as well as the process for indirect cost allocations. Ensure US finance practices are completed in alignment with Evidence Action policies and in compliance with GAAP. Administer Evidence Action’s use of Intacct, ensuring Evidence Action keeps pace with improvements in its capabilities and managing finance user access globally. In collaboration with the Global Controller, lead preparation for the annual global audit and tax filing and support branch country audits. Support the finance team’s implementation of improved accounting processes and/or software systems. Serve as backup across AP, AR, and payroll.
