Some College The Bard College Department of Athletics and Recreation seeks a part-time Assistant Cross-Country and Track & Field Coach. The position reports to the Head Cross-Country and Track & Field Coach on all matters related to the position description listed below.Essential Duties: • Assist the Head Coach in instruction as well as various aspects of the operations of the Cross Country and Track & Field programs as assigned • Attends practices and games, assists in planning and running practices, maintaining effective communication with current student-athletes, and other duties under the supervision of the Head Coach • Assists with other matters concerning the team, including (but not limited to) recruiting, inventory, academic support, camps and clinics, executing and maintaining aspects of the program’s social media sites and other matters • May drive institutional vehicles to and from practices and games. Is capable of leading the team in the event of the absence of the Head Coach • Must comply with all College, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and Liberty League rules and policies, and adheres to policies and procedures contained in the Bard College Staff Handbook
The Head Coach and other Athletic Department staff will assist the right candidate in finding other employment opportunities, which could include the following: • Coaching opportunities with local youth clubs College recruiting events and showcases Bard and external camps and clinics • Other positions within Bard Athletics and at Bard College more broadly
Bard will provide assistant coaches with opportunities to further their coaching development and education, including coaching courses, clinics, and licensure, as well as attendance at coaches’ conventions.
