**POSITION DETAILS**
Hunter College is seeking an Assistant Dean for Student Affairs to join a vibrant team in pursuit of maximizing student success and development. The Assistant Dean of Student Affairs plays a critical role in shaping the student experience at Hunter, contributing to the College’s mission of fostering learning, leadership, and personal growth among its diverse student body. The College is seeking a team builder and program visionary with excellent communication skills who can truly understand the student body and strategically use resources to meet their needs outside the classroom. The successful candidate will possess a proven record of achievement as a collaborative, experienced, and strategic leader, with clear ideas of how to engage a primarily commuter student body. The Assistant Dean for Student Affairs will report to Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. The Assistant Dean will be responsible for the following duties:
• Oversee and provide strategic direction for the Office of Student Life, Office of Student Activities, College Association, Athletics and Recreation, Office of Residence Life, Children’s Learning Center, Student Engagement and Experiential Opportunities. This includes oversight of the Affinity Spaces, all student clubs and government, student support services such as the food pantry, and immigrant student advisement.
• Coordinate areas of oversight to provide a robust array of experiences to help our student body maximize their College experience, foster personal growth in every area, celebrate diversity, and promote inclusion.
• Manage and oversee multiple budgets with various funding sources, including student activity fees. Strategically maximize the use of funds to create programming that advances the mission of the College and ensures ethical practices.
• Constantly have a pulse on the needs of the student body through qualitative and quantitative assessment. Communicate these needs with all stakeholders to influence College policy and major decisions.
• Be a project lead for select major events on campus such as Commencement.
• Other duties as assigned to support the goals of the division of Student Affairs and the College.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in higher education or a related field
• Occasional evenings and weekend work required.

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**
Salary commensurate with education and experience up to $120,000-$140,000.
