Description

The Assistant Director for Educational Programs will develop, implement, and facilitate training and educational programs to build a comprehensive, integrated harassment and discrimination prevention response strategy.

 

The incumbent in this position will lead initiatives to educate and create a curriculum on Title VI/VII regulations, Emory policy, and Emory process that are customized to different university populations (students (RAs, Sororities and Fraternities, Student Orgs, Athletics, International Students), faculty, and staff (post-Docs included)).

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports the office in complying with Emory's Equal Opportunity and Discriminatory Harassment policy and raising awareness and understanding of Title VI/VII regulations, Emory process, and procedures within the Emory community. Provides training for the Department of Equity and Civil Rights Compliance (DECRC) staff and external support. Supports the University's compliance efforts by contributing to the identification and/or design, development, delivery, refinement, and assessment of new and existing harassment and discrimination prevention training, including implementing and assessing the university-wide online training programs. Provides leadership, supervisory, and management training for all levels of faculty and staff. Conducts research and designs new programs and initiatives, including developing training presentations and supporting materials, such as slides, handouts, and other supportive learning aids. Assists institutional leaders and internal partners in identifying training needs and resources. Collaborates with leadership and department supervisors at the conclusion of complaint investigations to provide customized facilitation and/or intervention to individuals and departments, as needed. Evaluates and analyzes the effectiveness of training and educational programs. Tracks training attendance and areas trained for reporting purposes and developing training plans for various schools, departments, etc., to ensure ongoing education and compliance. Compiles training data and course evaluations and prepares reports. Assists in communicating department training and events in coordination with the Office of Communications, including website updates and enhancements. Monitors laws and regulatory changes and assisting the office with updating policy, practices, and procedures. Represents the DECRC office at meetings, conferences, and other events. Perform related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years of experience developing and/or implementing training programs or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A master's degree and experience developing training and education programs in a higher education environment and the management of EO/AA or Diversity programs, preferred.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
